We won our appeal
The Court of Appeal has ruled that the decision to remove our popular Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in Bethnal Green was unlawful. This is a victory for local people who came together when they saw that their community stood to lose the safer streets they really value.
Our appeal has been heard
On November 26th we went to court for our appeal against the result of the judicial review we brought last November. The grounds of this appeal concern the powers of the Mayor of London and Local Authorities’ obligations. For this reason, the outcome could have implications for all London Boroughs.

A judge has granted us permission to appeal the Dec 17 judicial review ruling. We will now need to raise another £20,000 to fund it. Please donate to our Crowdjustice fund if you're able. Read moreThe Bethnal Green LTN is a low traffic neighbourhood in Bethnal Green, London. It extends from Old Bethnal Green Road to Columbia Road and Arnold Circus.
The LTN was implemented in 2021 as part of the Bethnal Green Liveable Streets scheme. It was designed to reduce traffic and improve air quality in the area.
